I also regularly do a number of standard Windows tasks on top of running Evidence Eliminator that adds up to what's become a very reliable Windows XP Operating system. Something we all thought was an impossibility!!! ;-) 

I follow a simple 12 point check list doing several Windows Maintenance tasks that are set up on my system to activate automatically using the Windows Task Scheduler. One of the main things for keeping your system up to date are the automatic Windows Critical Update Notifications, and the Windows Service Pack Update packages. Doing an online Windows Update helps greatly in keeping a computer running well.

Please remember, that whether you are doing a fresh install of an older Windows 98 operating system or one of the newest Windows XP or Pro versions, you will need to go online and complete all the important Windows Software and Critical Updates components. 

If you're buying a computer from a store see if they can load all the Updates for Windows before delivery. It will save you a lot of time. It is a pain in the butt sometimes, but it's got to be done if you want your PC to run faster; to speed up your computer start up and to keep it running faster all the time.

The last time I did a new Windows XP installation for a client, we needed to download over 180Mb of data to get all the program bug fixes and security updates. 180Mb, that's a lot of changes since the XP & XP Pro Windows Operating Systems were released. Get your Windows Critical Updates, and don't leave home without it, as the saying goes. There's a little app available at the Windows Update called Critical Update Notification that you can download. I have been using Evidence Eliminator on my standard PIII Windows 98 SE computer for over 3 years now, and have never had a problem with locking up, freezing, lost system files, sluggish programs including Microsoft Outlook Express and Internet Explorer.
